In another week’s time, it will be three months since I arrived in the town of Fontainebleau. There’s a bug going around the '18Js at the moment and I am down with a flu. Which is a good thing because it resulted in me sitting at home drinking soup, watching fall colors out of my window and generally musing about life. Time is a beautiful thing, for when keenly observed it seems to be barely flowing, and yet turn your back and it seems to fly by.
INSEAD has just introduced a Personal Leadership Development Programme (PLDP) to their curriculum. The decision was made after collecting feedback from employers and I must admit, a convincing argument in choosing this Business School. The kick-off took place a couple of days ago, when Professor Derek Deasy made us ask ourselves important questions related to our true motivations and expectations regarding the year ahead. And so, with more questions than answers I went to school on Sunday morning (yes, on a Sunday), to meet my group and our PLDP coach for a group session.
Week 1 of our INSEAD journey is in the books, class of July 2018 is officially in session and I am already struggling to synthesise my thoughts, impressions and emotions. I could go on for many paragraphs, from the inspiring words at the opening ceremony and the unthinkable amount of non-academic services that INSEAD provides to the impressive organisational support that helped us all to make the transition into business school so easy. However, I want to dedicate my first impressions to my new fellow classmates.
