Why the TIEMBA amongst all other EMBAs available?

When I decided to enrol in the TIEMBA programme, I had lived eight years in Asia and had plans to return to Europe soon, so that my kids can attend university there.

The dual degree setup fitted in perfectly: getting connected with networks in Asia through Tsinghua University and my classmates, and at the same time establishing a strong link to Europe through INSEAD.

How would you describe your TIEMBA experience?

I felt young again!

I appreciated all the food for thought, the different environments that made me grow and learn, which I do not encounter in my daily job. It was like reliving my time as a student many years back - preparing for lessons, studying hard for the exams and also playing hard after successful module completion!

Most importantly, these intense weeks also fostered new friendships that still last till today.

What do you think is the value-add of TIEMBA’s dual-degree curriculum and faculty structure?

For me, INSEAD, being one of the best-known business schools there, provided the network to Europe.

I had also benefitted – knowledge-wise - in the area of Private Equity and Startups that helped me in my current position to get in contacts in Europe, Singapore and China.

What was one module that made an impact or was exceptionally useful for you?

There were contributions from several modules like Organisational Behaviour or Human Capital Management that taught me that everything around people - what you have to do to make a big team work successfully together.

Specifically, the individual Leadership Development Programme which placed us in small groups of four had a lasting impact on my personality.

How has the TIEMBA helped you in your career?

The amount of insights I gained about the various industries that my classmates are in was amazing. It changed my views on markets, customers and products - all that helped to develop my own business further.

Any advice to prospects who are considering the TIEMBA?

Take your time to decide which programme is suitable for you. Talk to alumni and make sure you have a plan for the future and envision how the programme can help you to get there. Then put 100% effort in your application process and continue to do so even after you are accepted into the programme.
