I grew up in Cameroon and moved to France at the age of 19 to study aeronautics and space engineering. When COVID-19 hit the aeronautics sector, I transitioned to project management and spent two years as a project management consultant for Safran Aircraft Engines.

Now, through INSEAD, I am embarking on my next challenge in strategy consulting.

Can you share an experience where a leader or colleague inspired you about this topic?

During my time as a consultant at Safran, I had the chance to work under Judite, the first person I could truly call a mentor. I was struck by how she balanced a caring and supportive nature with a rigorous leadership style. With over 25 years in the industrial sector, she had witnessed gender imbalance firsthand, a challenge that became even more evident as she advanced into management roles. This led to her commitment to address gender inequality. She never missed an opportunity to advocate for fairness in the company. Working with her was both inspiring and unforgettable.

How do you see yourself contributing to breaking down gender barriers in your industry?

I believe breaking down gender barriers starts with everyday actions. I try to challenge biases and support everyone in pursuing their dreams, no matter their gender.

This can help build confidence, especially for women who are often underrepresented in certain fields. Creating a fairer and supportive environment is something I’m always working towards.

What steps can organisations take to support young professionals in advancing gender equity?

We all have unconscious biases that shape our behaviour. Organisations can make a real difference by providing training to address these biases and creating a culture where open conversations about gender equality are encouraged. It's also crucial for organisations to ensure fair representation at all levels, showing that success is achievable for everyone. Creating an environment in which everyone feels valued and supported can help young professionals thrive.
