Au revoir, Fontainebleau: Halfway through the INSEAD journey

Marina Casoran Michaut

Halfway through the INSEAD journey and the Fontainebleau chapter completed.

A moment to pause, reflect and absorb as we pack the little nests we built in France and get ready for Singapore.

Guided by professors generously sharing years of research and experience, and a pace that demands consistency, focus and sharp prioritisation.

Alongside the core programme, I was fortunate to get involved in different initiatives outside the classroom:

  • Robin Hood Campaign: Co-leading alongside Eugénie Billès to mobilise students, alumni and staff around a shared goal. Before the official campaign week even began, we reached ~75% cohort participation and record fundraising for this stage.

  • French Foreign Trade Advisors Project: Contributed as a data analyst to a study analysing 1,600+ responses from international business leaders appointed by the French Prime Minister, alongside INSEAD peers Lou-ann Beneton and Akshar Sharma and the EGE (École Économique de la Guerre) and CCE (Les Conseillers du Commerce Extérieur de la France) teams. We identified market and investment trends shaping French companies abroad to strengthen France’s economic attractiveness.
  • Emerald Consulting - Pro-bono consulting project for a local Mexican tequila brand: Supporting an early-stage company with a strong heritage and big ambitions, but limited data. By identifying key blind spots and conducting extensive market research, we turned ambiguity into a grounded market strategy. Delivered alongside INSEAD MIM peers Etienne Bureau, Palaash Mankodi, Caroline Mullens, Navneeth Dileep Menon and an MBA mentor, Alexander Fallegger.
  • Women Mentorship Programme: Co-building a mentorship initiative with inspiring women across the MBA and MIM who believe growth is stronger and more meaningful when shared.

Some personal milestones along the way: achieving advanced French certifications and completing my first full marathon!

INSEAD is a place of compressed growth; a place where ambitious goals stop feeling abstract and start feeling executable with effort and with the right people around you.

Next stop: back to the dynamic energy of Singapore!
