Could you share something unexpected or a fun fact about yourself?
I don’t think there’s anything particularly unexpected or fun! I spend a lot of time coming up with trade ideas and analysing financial markets.
With a background in psychology, I approach business challenges by first understanding the human side. This unique perspective has proven especially useful in high-pressure financial roles, where empathy and emotional intelligence are rare but invaluable traits.
Tell us about yourself, and how you got to where you are today?
My path has been shaped by my multicultural upbringing and an early sense of responsibility as the eldest sibling. Growing up in an entrepreneurial family fostered my curiosity about diverse perspectives and industries, sparking my interest in geopolitics and psychology.
After studying psychology and undertaking internships across cultures, I joined Goldman Sachs, where I faced unexpected challenges, including navigating a leadership transition.
These experiences developed my agility, strategic thinking, and resilience, ultimately preparing me for an MBA at INSEAD and my aspirations to impact the venture capital landscape.
What motivated you to choose the INSEAD MBA, and how do you envision it aligning with your future goals?
INSEAD’s global outlook and emphasis on diversity align closely with my ambitions. With a keen interest in venture capital and disruptive technologies, INSEAD offers the opportunity to refine my corporate finance and strategic skills in an international context.
I envision leveraging these experiences to transition into a role where I can invest in mission-driven tech ventures. INSEAD’s curriculum and network provide the technical foundation and global connections I seek.
What are your impressions of campus life so far, and how did you navigate accommodation and administrative tasks? Any tips for incoming students?
Campus life at INSEAD has been vibrant and incredibly welcoming. I was initially drawn to its supportive community, and my experience so far confirms this camaraderie.
For accommodation, I found it helpful to start early by engaging with online groups and student networks, which provided excellent insights. My advice to incoming students is to utilise INSEAD’s resources and proactively connect with current students—they’re invaluable for navigating logistics smoothly.
Could you share a little about your application process and securing financing?
I thoroughly enjoyed the application process as I connected with numerous alumni and current students who were all enthusiastic about sharing their experiences. This helped me gain a genuine understanding of the school and its culture.
The interviews were also a fantastic opportunity to engage with alumni. Securing financing involved a combination of personal savings, family support, and exploring scholarships. I recommend prospective students explore all available options and plan ahead to make the transition to INSEAD smoother.
You are starting your INSEAD MBA in Singapore/France. Are you planning any campus exchanges?
I started in Fontainebleau and have just secured my exchange in Singapore for P3.
In your first few weeks, what aspects of the INSEAD MBA have stood out to you as unique or particularly appealing?
The collaborative nature of the learning environment has been especially inspiring. The diversity of thought and experience, combined with the programme’s fast pace, creates a unique intensity and energy. This diversity not only broadens perspectives but also enhances teamwork, encouraging everyone to think critically and innovatively.
Aside from your academic pursuits, what extracurricular interests or activities are you exploring at INSEAD, and how do you see them enhancing your overall MBA experience?
I am actively involved in the Venture Capital and Private Equity Club and am organising company visits, which helps deepen my network and understanding of the industry, ultimately supporting my career aspirations. I’m also finally working on improving my tennis skills.
Any parting words of wisdom, and are you willing to be contacted for more information by prospective students?
For prospective students, I’d advise embracing every opportunity to step out of your comfort zone. INSEAD’s environment is perfect for taking calculated risks, learning from peers, and shaping your career ambitions. And yes, I’d be happy to connect with prospective students to answer any questions or offer insights!
