What made you decide to do an EMBA and why the INSEAD Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) programme?

The INSEAD GEMBA programme has enabled me to continue my career growth whilst as the same time further develop my managerial expertise.

INSEAD is consistently ranked amongst the top business schools in the world, which made it a target school for me to pursue a masters - the rankings not only reflect the quality of teaching, but also the quality of peers.

As a resident of the UAE, the fact that INSEAD has campus in Abu Dhabi was a huge plus. Having an in-class experience was an important factor for me, since so much of the learning in an EMBA journey is through peer-to-peer learning.

How would you describe the profile of the Middle East section?

The diversity within each cohort is truly amazing. The diversity is represented not only by the range of of nationalities within the cohort, but also by the diversity of industries and specialities amongst members of the cohort.

How did the Abu Dhabi scholarship for Emirati nationals help you?

The Abu Dhabi scholarship for Emirati nationals was transformative.

Through the scholarship, I have developed the leadership skills that will ultimately allow me to give back to the UAE government. As a UAE national working in the government, the scholarship has granted me the knowledge, skill-set and confidence to hold a senior leadership role and support the fast-paced government driven growth that Abu Dhabi is experiencing.

What is one useful tip for admitted students and prospects out there who are interested in applying for an INSEAD scholarship?

Apply for a scholarship that aligns with your personal and career objectives. Be authentic in your applications, and try and consider how a scholarship could help you and what you will be able to give back in return.

How has your role changed since doing the GEMBA? What does an already-successful professional get out of it?

Since embarking on the GEMBA, I have changed roles and I am now working in a private government office. The business acumen I gained from the GEMBA has helped drive efficiency in the government, where I utilise my skills to develop robust strategies, considering return on investment, to maximise value for the government and its citizens.

What advice will you give to potential applicants looking to do an INSEAD EMBA?

Definitely apply. The GEMBA is a truly unique experience. In our increasingly globalised world, it undoubtedly enhances one’s ability to conduct business across cultures
