Could you share something unexpected or a fun fact about you?

I have travelled across all of Japan, with only one prefecture left before I hit ‘completionist’ level. I hope to never ‘complete’ the quest so I can keep returning for more good food, sake, and exchanges with the local businesses and communities.

My quest started when I was a student on an academic exchange in Japan. Travelling in the heat haze of summer, I reached Asahikawa in Hokkaido from my lodging in Tokyo after four days via local trains! Such journeys and explorations have taught me the value of slowing down, reflecting, and taking a step back to appreciate the beauty in every moment and the changing landscape.

Tell us about yourself and how you got to where you are today.

I am Singaporean and spent the past few years with Changi Airport Group, where I led transformation and development projects that shaped the airport’s operations and the future mega-Terminal 5. From automation planning and modelling financial viability to implementing digital solutions which were conceptualised and developed in-house, my work lies at the intersection of strategic thinking with data-driven, statistical analyses.

Before that, I pursued a degree in Public Policy and Global Affairs at NTU Singapore, where I graduated top of my class with the prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal. My fascination with how complex systems — whether societies or airports — work and evolve naturally drew me to roles that combine analytical rigour with strategic impact.

What motivated you to choose the INSEAD MBA, and how do you envision it aligning with your future goals?

I chose INSEAD because of its global mindset, accelerated learning environment, and emphasis on business as a force for good.

After several years of driving operational transformation, I wanted to broaden my perspective to other business functions, especially in finance and commerce, in order to equip me to make better decisions at an enterprise level.

INSEAD’s one-year, high-intensity MBA provides exactly that bridge: a platform to integrate strategic, financial, and human dimensions of leadership, preparing me to take on cross-functional, value-creating roles.

What are your impressions of campus life so far, and how did you navigate accommodation and admin? Any tips for incoming students?

Campus life has been busy yet energising, and every conversation or coffee chat feels like opening a door to a new world!

Be willing to listen as much as you are willing to contribute. It is very important to come in with an open mind and a fundamental respect for others. Only through action and communication based on mutual respect and humility can one truly build bridges with others and leverage the diverse expertise that the community has to offer. No idea is ‘too silly’ or ‘wrong’. There is always a new perspective or dimension for you to learn from!

Could you share a little about your application process?

My approach was to stay authentic and reflective. I spent time understanding why I wanted an MBA and how it would fit into my longer-term development rather than just my next role. That clarity helped me write more meaningfully and speak more confidently during my interview.

I also reached out to alumni early to learn about their experiences. Their openness reinforced what I sensed from INSEAD’s values — a genuine, supportive community built on shared curiosity and growth.

You are starting your INSEAD MBA in Singapore. Are you planning any campus exchanges?

While I am truly excited by the opportunity for cross-cultural exchanges, I have made the strategic decision to remain fully engaged with the Singapore campus for most of my programme. This is primarily driven by current financial planning and important family considerations.

I view this as a powerful way to maximise the immense value of being in Asia, the fastest-growing economic region, and being connected with our community based here.

In your first few weeks, what aspects of the INSEAD MBA have stood out to you as unique or particularly appealing?

The intensity and diversity — in the best possible way. Classes move quickly, discussions are dynamic, and my peers bring extraordinary depth from every industry imaginable.  In the Singapore campus, we can feel the very strength of INSEAD, which is a truly diverse community generous with their experience and sharing their opinions.

Aside from your academic pursuits, what extracurricular interests or activities are you exploring at INSEAD, and how do you see them enhancing your overall MBA experience?

Atop joining the Consulting and Investment Management Clubs, I really enjoy connecting with classmates over beverages and meals! These moments outside the classroom, where people open up about their journeys and aspirations, have been some of the most enriching parts of the INSEAD experience so far.

Any parting words of wisdom, and are you willing to be contacted for more information by prospective students?

The MBA is as much about self-discovery as it is about career transformation. Embrace the intensity and be authentic, generous, respectful, and open. Enjoy the process of being challenged and transformed by new ideas, cultures, and yourself!

And absolutely, I am happy to be contacted by prospective students. I benefited greatly from alumni who shared their stories with me, and I would be glad to pay it forward.
