We Are Not the Future. We Are the Present!

In September 2020, a group of almost 300 young men and women met for the first time on the doorstep of INSEAD's campus in the gorgeous town of Fontainebleau, France.

With excitement reserved for first graders, we started exploring the bustling diversity of people who flew from all over the world and more than 60 countries to spend one year in a place that will shape and change their lives forever.

As I received my diploma and became an INSEAD alumnus, I tried to think what is that one takeaway from this year?

The answer came right away. Looking left and right at my brilliant fellow students who became close friends, I realised what a great force was sitting in the venue.

Hundreds of highly skilled and ambitious people - and I believe now know more than ever that this is our chance, and we better not screw this one up.

It is on us to be a real #forceforgood, and it must not be a cliche. We don't have the luxury anymore.

As the president of the INSEAD Environment & Business Club, I learned how much we actually can and must do. During our ten months at INSEAD, we have organised more than a dozen events on green finance, clean energy, wildlife preservation, you name it.

We are not the future. We are the present! We should harness business and incentives to align with the collective good and involve sustainability in every step of the way.

As John C. Maxwell said: "A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way."

I wouldn't have made it to the finish line without the push from my amazing parents, and of course, my incredible wife, Amit.

This might be the end of the best year of my life, but it's also the beginning of a new, exciting chapter that I hope will make a difference and leave a mark.
