Solving Why's? - Why Emba, Why TIEMBA, and Why Now?

To begin with, almost every MBA student has a story to tell. However, unlike many MBA aspirants, I decided to go for an MBA 16 years ago, on the evening of April 23, 2005, when my grandfather surprisingly ask me, “What would you like to do in life?". I replied, "An MBA". However, I did not realise then that it would take me another 16 years to finally go on my MBA journey. So why did it take me 16 years and why now? The short answer will be - no time and resources, but it really boils down to right timing.

TIEMBA: A Reflection on the Past and the Road That Lies Ahead

The Rolling Stones released the song “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” in 1969, during a period of social upheaval and disappointment in the ability to effect meaningful change. The song verses wander through melancholic vignettes while each refrain of the chorus increasingly uplifts Mick Jagger’s gut punch of proud contentment in spite of it all and acceptance of a less than ideal outcome.

I shared it with my wife, my daughter, with my parents, and with all the coaches who have helped me to be ready for this opportunity.

It was late January 2020 and I finally decided to apply to the TIEMBA programme, which also coincided with the start of the COVID pandemic. I had been researching and casually poking around the Executive MBA space for a couple of years, but now felt like it was the right time to make a commitment.
