The INSEAD Summer School provided an unparalleled environment, both in terms of the classroom diversity and the coursework involved.

Could you share something unexpected about you?
Although what I am about to share is not necessarily unexpected, I definitely think it makes me stand out! I completed my Bachelor’s degree as well as my postgraduate certification from all-women institutions. While I never intentionally chose these institutions solely on the gender criteria, the academic environment and the sisterhood which an all-women institute brings about is definitely something to write home about.
I found myself constantly challenged - these spaces were my haven where I could learn and constantly open myself to challenges. I strongly believe the empowering spirit combined with lack of judgement, freedom of expression around my peers and reduced hesitation and comparison contributed to the person I am today. I found in these institutions a tribe of like-minded people that believe in the same inclusive future as I do. These core values of inclusivity and diversity are something that I found being mirrored in INSEAD’s ethos as well.
Tell us about yourself, and how you got to where you are today both on a professional and personal level?
I recently graduated from the INSEAD Summer School Class of 2023. At present, I am working with Landor & Fitch in their Client Servicing and Strategy Department. I am working for several brands and getting exposure to different APAC projects.
My academic background is rooted in Literature, Psychology and Management - subjects that I took keen interest in during my high school days. In parallel, I am preparing my application for the Master in Management (MIM) programme at INSEAD.
What motivated you to choose the INSEAD Summer School, and how do you envision it aligning with your future goals, even at this early stage?
The INSEAD experience is directly linked to my future goals and ambition. My long-term goal is to become a leader in the field of strategy and my short-medium term career goal is to enter the field of management consulting.
INSEAD is the right next step for me to pursue my career goals while learning in an environment that is diverse and at the forefront of management, leadership and business.
The INSEAD Summer School provided an unparalleled environment, both in terms of the classroom diversity and the coursework involved. Having the platform to engage in discussions with renowned professors was an immensely valuable experience.
I was keen on participating in problem-solving sessions with diverse classmates, bringing enriching perspectives, learning from industry leaders, and eventually building a global and collaborative mindset.
Even at this stage in my career, I believe that gaining such exposure will have a long-lasting impact in my life, whether through classroom learning or the lifelong friendships that I forged.
Tell us about your experience on the ISS – what was a typical day like?
A typical day at INSEAD was a fun and challenging mix of interactive classroom sessions that involved working in groups and social evenings that involved activities ranging from football matches to Karaoke nights! All this was interspersed with several coffee and fooseball breaks :)
Any memorable moments that you will take back with you?
I had several memorable moments and it is really difficult to point to one! However, an experience where I learnt immensely was the “Your First 100 Days” course by Professor Adrian Johnson that we had towards the end of the INSEAD Summer School!
It was an exceptional experience where I learnt the nuances of decision-making, art of performing in team environment and importance of problem-solving. My role play as a Chief Marketing Officer not only helped me discover new skills of a marketing professional, but also about my leadership style through the immersive business case exercise.
What were your impressions of campus life?
I felt a sheer sense of inclusion and warmth at INSEAD.
Even though the roots of my peer group spanned 24 nationalities, the culture of inclusion and diversity that INSEAD instills helped all of us come close to each other right from the get go. The environment created by the faculty and staff at INSEAD made it conducive to learning and sharing life experiences with each other. I felt like I belonged and really appreciated the healthy classroom environment where everyone was encouraged to contribute.
Further, I really admire the effort and dedication of the faculty, mentors and staff to ensure that INSEAD Summer School cohort had an exceptional experience - something that everyone will cherish for the rest of their life.
Could you share a little about your application process, and making your way to
Fontainebleau?
I was introduced to the INSEAD summer school online where I learnt about the course, curriculum and the process. The entire application process was very well explained on the website with clear guidelines on what is expected, what students will learn and deadlines. That made my job a lot easier.
I already had context about what to expect at INSEAD as I had followed my brother’s journey closely. He is an INSEAD MBA'21J alum. I knew from the get-go that I wanted to experience the INSEAD life over the summer. I worked on my applications on my own, connecting with INSEAD alumni during the process.
INSEAD alumni were very reachable and responsive on LinkedIn - another indicator of the culture INSEAD imbibes in their students.
Once I got admission, I decided to accept without any hesitation and made my way to the beautiful campus in Fontainebleau.
