Tell us about yourself, and how you go to where you are today both on a professional and personal level?
I’m an Italian Engineer with two Master degrees from Italy and China. I have extensive experience in Amazon Operations and decided to pursue an MBA to change sector, country and function with a role and country more fitting to my aspirations.
What made you decide you wanted to pursue the INSEAD MBA, and why INSEAD in particular?
I applied in Round 3 and decided for INSEAD and especially the Singapore campus. Firstly because I wanted to join a leading and global business school with access to global opportunities, secondly because I wanted to return to Asia.
Singapore is an amazing city and the place to be if you want a career in the global economy. The Singapore campus leverages its position to attract prominent companies and alumni leading Asia in becoming the most powerful region in the world.
As far as accommodation is concerned, Keystone is the place to be, with easy process to find an apartment in a beautiful and serene neighbourhood, only 10 minutes away from the campus.
Could you tell us about your experience with the Career Development Centre (CDC)?
The CDC was very supportive in narrowing down my career options and eventually converging to consulting as best field for my profile and aspirations.
It has been a very tough couple of months but INSEAD gave me the chance to apply to a position as Summer Consultant in the Middle East, and I managed to complete the process and receive an offer, completely matching my expectations.
What advice will you give to prospects who are still considering whether an INSEAD MBA should be part of their career plan?
The best advice would be to consider an MBA only if you have enough relevant pre-MBA experience and plenty of career successes to both be able to fully contribute and bring value to the class. This will also help you be an outstanding candidate in the recruiting season, providing you with a strong background where you can maximise the value provided by an INSEAD MBA and do the triple jump (country, function and sector).
