INSEAD’s ability to attract such a diverse cohort made it the perfect choice for me.

Could you share something unexpected or a fun fact about yourself?
Before moving to New Zealand, I used to view rugby as a brutal contact sport. I never imagined it would become my favourite sport! The aura of the All Blacks (New Zealand's rugby team) has completely convinced me that no other sport matches the intensity, thrill, and excitement of rugby.
As a fun fact, I have a habit of reading the last three pages of a novel first. It helps me decide if the story is worth investing my time in!
Tell us about yourself and how you got to where you are today, both professionally and personally.
I was born in Pakistan and raised in Qatar, where I completed my high school education. In 2005, I moved to New Zealand to pursue higher studies. My career has been profoundly shaped by New Zealand’s work culture, which emphasises balancing professional aspirations with personal priorities.
The journey to where I am today has been influenced by the incredible people around me. I’ve been fortunate to work with leaders who create an environment that challenges individuals to grow and contribute beyond what they imagine possible. In my personal life, I am surrounded by people who genuinely care for me and provide the strength I need.
This blend of challenge and support in both my professional and personal life encouraged me to continue learning, take on greater responsibilities, and grow into the person I am today.
What led you to decide to pursue an Executive MBA, and why did you choose INSEAD in particular?
The evolving expectations of CFOs have been the key driver behind my decision to pursue an Executive MBA. Today, CFOs are no longer just financial and compliance experts; they are expected to deeply understand organisational value creation, support strategic initiatives, drive operational excellence, and guide digital enablement.
I spent over a year exploring Executive MBA programmes at various tier-one business schools, including London Business School and IMD Business School Lausanne. Ultimately, I chose INSEAD because of its high-quality, relevant, and well-structured courses delivered by a highly qualified teaching team. Additionally, INSEAD’s ability to attract such a diverse cohort made it the perfect choice for me.
How would you describe your experience so far? What is your impression of the faculty, the curriculum, and your fellow participants?
I am truly inspired and energised! The faculty, curriculum, and my cohort create an environment of intense, real-world learning. This is one of the most remarkable journeys of my life!
What advice would you give to someone who might be interested in pursuing an INSEAD programme?
Pursuing an INSEAD programme is challenging, as it requires juggling professional and personal commitments while making time to complete the programme. However, it is achievable with discipline, commitment, good time management, and the support of your family and colleagues.
