What made you decide to do an MBA? Why the INSEAD MBA?

After working in the NYC Fashion industry for a few years, I wanted to have a stronger financial background to be able to advance in my career and have a more global business mindset for the future. The INSEAD programme was my top choice when applying to schools due to the diversity of the student body and my love for the French language and culture.

What expectations did you have before you started your MBA? Was INSEAD what you expected?

I really didn’t know what to expect! Especially because I came from such an unconventional MBA background, I entered the programme with an open mind and heart. Although this may sound cliché, my year at INSEAD really did end up becoming one of the best years of my life.

What is it about INSEAD that you love?

Firstly, the people: both in terms of diversity and how all INSEAD students could relate to each other naturally regardless of the differences in our backgrounds. Secondly, the opportunity: choice of two main campuses and affiliations with other great programmes.

How has INSEAD helped you in your career?

My first job out of INSEAD with L’Oreal Luxe. It was a direct result of the strong relationship I got to build with L’Oreal’s corporate HR team as I was the L’Oreal scholar in my class.

This was an amazing and rewarding experience for me that led to a very exciting job opportunity with them in Hong Kong. Not only did INSEAD help in my first post-MBA job, but it also has consistently helped in being recognised by companies as a programme of highest pedigree and reputation which has bolstered my upward career trajectory.

Can you share an experience or memory that left you a deep impression?

The culture weeks highlighting a different country each week was a very cool and memorable part of my INSEAD experience.

There was so much creativity in each country’s activities and allowed students to learn about each other’s’ cultures, cuisine, and heritage, which was truly amazing!

How has your INSEAD experience remained relevant even after you have graduated?

The INSEAD network is really a special and incredible one, and one of the most valuable resources that the INSEAD MBA has to offer. The reach of the network has been a huge advantage in many of my personal and professional endeavours. No matter what city in the world, you can always rely on the INSEAD network to welcome you with open arms and help out in making valuable connections.

What advice will you give to prospects who are still considering whether an INSEAD MBA is worth it?

Go for it if it’s something you believe in and really want. It’s an incredibly empowering experience. Do it as you won’t regret it for even one minute.
