A lot of times I get asked if doing an MBA is worth it or what the ROI of an INSEAD MBA is. I always say "it depends" on what you're looking for in the short term vs long term. When I went to INSEAD in 2015, I invested EUR 63k on this experience. This was a HUGE financial investment for me as a 25-year old in India with no savings and no family funds to bank on.
The INSEAD brand automatically grants you access to some of the most welcoming and influential alumni associations around the world.
On Tuesday, 5 July 2022, the INSEAD MBA class of July 2020 came together once again to mark their graduation at the Chateau de Fontainebleau – a celebration that was delayed by two years due to the pandemic. Katrina Yavash, who was elected class valedictorian speaker, reflected on the cohort’s varied journeys taken since graduating at the height of a global health crisis, and on the power of the INSEAD network that has carried them through those difficult times and has taught three invaluable assets: courage, compassion and community.
Coming from all around the world to share their experiences, expand their network and transform their leadership skills, the INSEAD Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) Class of 2023 and Tsinghua-INSEAD Executive MBA (TIEMBA) Class of 2024 embarked on their journey to new success across our campuses in Singapore, Fontainebleau, Abu Dhabi, and the Tsinghua campus in Beijing.

After nine years of professional experiences across journalism, the government sector and charity, I felt ready for the next level of accelerating my career to create a bigger impact. I have always been curious to learn, and I felt energised by the idea that I can take the questions, reflections and fresh ideas that I’ve accumulated at work over the years into a classroom setting, to freely discuss with other students and learn from them to.
In the minds and experience of the four Middle Eastern graduates we spoke to recently, there is no doubt how an MBA from INSEAD not only rewards it's recipients but also has a significant positive impact on their immediate family and people they work with. This is what drove these four alumni to get together and promote the school to Palestinians, helping them through the application process and financial support where needed, to empower those with commercial capabilities and entrepreneurial resilience, and prepare them to succeed in the business world.
We see the light at the end of the tunnel ... and it is not a train moving in our direction. Quite the opposite, it is a feeling that you get when you are very close to the finish line but you actually don't want to cross it because it is all about the journey itself not so much about the destination. My GEMBA'22 journey started 10 months ago and there are four months to go. The last module was the Electives in July and, without exaggeration, a mind-blowing experience.
I am now 10 months into the GEMBA journey, with only two more modules left to finish it off; and I can’t help but feel that it has gone so fast. Don’t get me wrong, these 10 months have really been a transformational experience; this programme makes you challenge yourself in every possible aspect, which not only made me grow as a better professional, but also as a better person.
