Lesley Ndlovu

Fun fact about yourself: 

I am a keen marathoner; I run to stay balanced both mentally and physically. I sometimes think of myself as a part-time CEO and full-time runner!

So, Lesley, what made you decide to pursue an EMFin, and why did you choose INSEAD? 

I was at the stage of my career where I was transitioning from being a technical specialist with expertise in one specific area to being a leader with a broader set of responsibilities. The Executive Master in Finance (EMFin) was the perfect way to challenge myself and broaden my horizons. INSEAD was the natural choice given the stellar reputation of the faculty and the global perspective.

If you were to describe your experience in one sentence, what would it be?

It was an eye-opening experience that broadened my horizons through enhancing my technical finance knowledge and introducing me to people from all over the world.

Has the EMFin helped you in your career so far?
 
I have successfully transitioned to become a leader in our company and in the industry at large. Completing the EMFin made me believe in myself more and be more confident in my abilities.

Can you share with us your thoughts about the multi-campus experience?

I was in Fontainebleau and in Singapore, and the contrast in the surroundings reinforced the global nature of INSEAD. It set the tone for being comfortable anywhere in the world.

Has INSEAD’s alumni network been useful to you so far?

I am currently the Treasurer of the Alumni Association in South Africa and I have met many wonderful people through the network. In general, alumni are available and willing to help each other and the profound sense of community is amazing to witness.

What advice would you give to someone who might be interested in pursuing an INSEAD Masters programme?
 
Go for it, it will be the experience of a lifetime!
