Why did you decide to do an MBA and why did you choose the INSEAD MBA?

I wanted to build a stronger business foundation and enlarge my career network. I chose the INSEAD MBA because it is a relatively short, intensive one-year programme where I could spend time in both Europe and Asia. Also INSEAD offers entrepreneurial classes that I was interested in.

Did INSEAD meet your expectations?

Yes, INSEAD definitely went beyond my expectations in terms of student dynamics and international exposure. The faculty members are resourceful in creating an environment that is conducive to learning as well as promotes personal development. In terms of the Academics, it is a fast paced environment. No two days are the same at INSEAD.

What are your thoughts on the faculty and class experiences?

I found the faculty extremely friendly and resourceful. Class experiences have been very lively with a lot of student participation in open discussions. The students’ diverse backgrounds and personal stories brought classes to life.

INSEAD is known for its diversity - tell us more about this diverse environment!

It is extremely international. “Where are you from?” does not seem to be a simple straightforward question for most of the students. There is no dominant culture at INSEAD and you can never assume things. Students have a high awareness of cultural diversity, and it is very easy for you to relate to other students. For example, I am from Thailand and many students have been to Thailand and some of them even have some kind of family ties to Thailand, which surprised me.

What are your plans after the MBA?

In the short-term, I would like to go into the hospitality industry. I will likely be based in Asia - Singapore or Thailand to be close to my family. In the long-term, I would like to have my own business running a small boutique hotel in Bangkok and Chiang Mai.

How has the Career Development Centre helped you?

There are a lot of workshops that aim to help students in terms of job search, networking, and interview prep. Career coaching has been tremendously helpful for my personal growth and determining my next career move.

What is the biggest lesson you have gotten from INSEAD thus far?

I have learned to get out of my comfort zone, and to deal with the unknown and challenges head on. Also, I have learned to be receptive to changes and to be more open to other people’s ideas and opinions.
