Could you tell us a little about yourself, personally and professionally, and how you have gotten to where you are today?

Hello! I’m Polly, part of the MIM’26 cohort. I’ve lived in China, Singapore, and Switzerland for work and education. Before attending INSEAD, I completed my undergraduate degree in Hospitality Management at EHL Hospitality School. After graduation, I spent a year working as a teaching assistant at EHL, teaching subjects such as Hotel Asset Management, Private Equity & Venture Capital, and Hotel Development & Planning.

Any fun or quirky facts about yourself you’d like to share?

I am an enthusiastic Lego builder and I find peace in myself when I am putting the blocks together.

Could you tell us what led you to pursue an INSEAD Master in Management programme?

My professional experience has been primarily in hospitality, but I’m eager to explore other industries. I believe enrolling in one of the top business schools will allow me to branch out and uncover new interests.

Why did you choose INSEAD? Were there any other business schools you considered?

I chose INSEAD for its multiculturalism and inclusivity. I’ve heard great things about the school and its strong, supportive alumni network. Let us be realistic here, I want to secure a job after graduation, and I hope building a network here will increase my chances of success. When I applied for master’s programmes, exploring a new culture and place was a top priority, so I also considered the Kellogg School of Management and the CEMS programme at the University of Sydney.

Do you have any admissions tips that you’re willing to share?

Always ask for help! The admissions team is there to assist with any questions about the application process. You can also contact current students on LinkedIn to discuss any concerns or inquiries. A solid understanding of the recruitment process will help you better prepare for the interviews. Additionally, being authentic and expressing your true motivation during the interview will give you the best chance of securing a spot in the INSEAD MIM program.

So, how has your experience on the programme been so far? We’re told you’re part of the Student Council!

Yes, I am super glad that I got to be part of the student council. It has been a humbling experience for me to work with three other great leaders on a team. At the same time, the workload has been insane! It is difficult to find a work-life balance when juggling social and academic life.

Could you explain a little more what the Student Council is, and how it will serve the MIM ’26 cohort?

Of course! We see ourselves as a support team as the student council, working to bring people together and make things happen at INSEAD. Our role is to assist the four key representatives—Academic, Student Life, Career, and Ambassador Reps—in launching initiatives that ensure the MIM experience is truly memorable.

Recently, we kicked off an initiative called Sundowners, inviting all students to gather at Freddy’s every other Wednesday after working hours for a drink, to build meaningful connections within the student body and the broader community.

So, how is life in Fontainebleau so far? Any tips for incoming students?

Life in Fontainebleau has been treating me very well! My favourite part of the day is walking through the vibrant town after school—it clears my mind and gives me a chance to do some window shopping. I also highly recommend visiting the local farmer’s market; you’ll discover that Fontainebleau has much to offer.

That said, life here can feel a bit slow for those accustomed to living in a big city. My tip is to put yourself out there and connect with the fascinating people at INSEAD. It’s a gradual process, but you’ll find that life here is both busy and rewarding!

Any parting words of wisdom, admissions or application tips you’re keen on sharing?

I don’t feel I’m in a position to offer unsolicited advice, but there’s one thing I strongly believe: being kind and considerate to others will always bring you good luck :)
