Sofia Bartolome Noriega
Can you briefly describe your profile?
I am a student at a university in Spain, where I am doing my Bachelor's degree in Business (4 years).
Any fun or quirky facts about you?
I speak four languages (Spanish, French, German and English)
What motivated you to choose the INSEAD Summer School, and how do you think it will align with your future goals, even at this early stage?
My father did his MBA at INSEAD and absolutely loved it. He was the one who encouraged me to apply even though it was only a two-week summer school experience.
I believe this course really helped me develop in a series of ways, including showing me how to better negotiate, interact with different cultures, and manage a business during the first 100 days.
In a nutshell, how was your experience on the ISS?
I had a great experience! I would 100% recommend this course to everyone (it does not matter what you study)
Any memorable moments you’ll carry with you?
The entire two-week experience was incredibly memorable, but if I had to choose one particular moment, I would choose the teamwork exercises we did on the first day
What were your impressions of campus life, your classmates, and the professors?
I had a lot of fun!! Everyone was eager to learn and meet like-minded people, so it was very enriching! The professors really worked hard to make every class as interesting and as engaging as possible
Could you share a little about your application process and getting to Fontainebleau?
I applied a few months before the Summer School Started. The process was quite easy-going. I shared a taxi with other participants from the programme from Gare de Lyon in Paris to the Ermitage Hotel in Fontainebleau
Any advice or words of wisdom for someone thinking about joining ISS?
Try to meet as many people as possible from all over the world and expose yourself to new cultures and experiences!
