The INSEAD Executive Master in Finance programme is designed to prepare the next generation of leaders that will drive the finance industry into the future. Applicants must either take the GMAT, the GMAT Focus, the GMAC Executive Assessment (EA) or the GRE – all of which provide a uniform and standardised way of evaluating candidates’ aptitude to cope with the intensity and breadth of the programme.
Scope
GMAT
The GMAT measures four broad skill areas: quantitative reasoning, verbal reasoning, integrated reasoning, and analytical writing.
You need to be proficient in certain grammar, algebra, geometry and arithmetic concepts in order to do well in the test.
GMAC EA
The EA measures business skills and programme readiness through three broad skill areas: integrated reasoning, verbal and quantitative reasoning.
You will use English language and math skills to demonstrate your knowledge.
GRE
The GRE General Test measures your verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing skills — skills that have been developed over a long period of time and are not related to a specific field of study but are important for all.
INSEAD Assessment
The INSEAD Assessment is designed to test academic capacity and business acumen. It covers four skill areas you would typically come across in business: data analysis, data interpretation, communication analysis, and critical thinking.
CFA Level 1
The CFA is designed is focused on the knowledge and comprehension of investment tools and asset classes, as well as portfolio management and ethical and professional standards.
Test Duration and Format
GMAT
Consists of a 3.5-hour standardised computer adaptive test. Questions are released one at a time, depending on your answer to the previous question. You will not be able to skip, return to, or change your answers to questions.

Consists of a 1.5-hour standardised computer adaptive test. Groups of questions are selected for you depending on your answer to the previous question.

GRE
Consists of a 3.75-hour computer-delivered or 3.5-hour paper-delivered test. The GRE is the only admissions test that lets you skip questions within a section, go back and change answers, and have control to tackle the questions within a section you want to answer first.

INSEAD Assessment
If you opt to take the INSEAD Assessment, you must first submit a completed application at least two weeks prior to the assessment date. Your application will be reviewed by our pre-selection committee and if successful, you will be invited to join the assessment.
Preparation
Before sitting the actual test, you should practise in a mock testing environment, inclusive of time constraints. There are many resources as well as third-party preparation centres available to familiarise yourself with the format and practise. Click on the links below to find out more.

Validity
The GMAT, EA and GRE scores are valid for five years and can be used to apply to other business schools. Applicants with scores that are more than five years old will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
GMAT
You can take the GMAT exam once every 16 calendar days and no more than five times in a 12-month period, and no more than eight times in total. Please consult the GMAT website for more information on exam policies.
EA

GRE
You can take the GRE exam once every 21 calendar days and no more than five times in a 12-month period. There is no limit to the number of attempts to take the GRE. Please refer to the GRE website for more information on policies.
INSEAD Assessment

Registration fee for CFA program exam is USD 900 for early registration and USD 1,200 for standard registration. One-time enrollment fee is USD350.

INSEAD EMFin Application Process
You must submit your test score together with your EMFin application, or within four weeks after submitting your application.
After the initial application pre-selection (which includes evaluation of your test score), successful applicants are invited to a face-to-face admissions interview with an alum organised locally.
