Remember Parties?

Sonal Bahl

You know when you go to a party, and you have a wonderful time?

Remember parties?!

And then, someone suggests to continue the party at their house. A few friends are getting together for late night snacks. You decide to go. And then you have a lot of fun.

In fact, you admit to yourself, you had way MORE fun at the after party than the actual party. There were wonderful people there and you enjoyed REAL conversations with them.

That’s it. That’s really it.

LinkedIn posts are like going to a party.

You read them, you like them. But the REAL party is in the comments.

Whether you post something original or engage with someone’s post, you should read, chat and reply to interesting comments with your OWN thought-provoking response.

I’ve been saying this for years: the juice is always in the comments.

Always. Juicy details = lifeblood of any party

Not convinced that writing interesting comments on LinkedIn posts can help your career? Doesn’t matter, see:

  • Worst case: no one will respond to your comment. So what?
  • Best case: you’ll be noticed by hiring managers, clients, podcast hosts, and even make friends down the road!

You’ve got nothing to lose!

Do you read comments? Do you respond? What do you think?
