Tell us about yourself, where are you from, and where have you previously studied?

I’m from China and previously studied at McGill in Canada. I would like to describe myself as a diversity seeker, passionate about discovering new things and meeting different people.

What kind of career are you headed for?

I’m aiming for a career in finance, private wealth management or sales and trading specifically.

What made you choose INSEAD?

I chose INSEAD because of it's diverse cohort and global programme, with the hope that I too, will become a global citizen with vast international experience. The INSEAD MIM will allow me to build my career all around the globe including Europe, Singapore and the Middle East. It is truly an opportunity that fascinates me.

They say that at INSEAD, everyone is a minority, which I find distinct from other programmes.

Share your admission journey with us! Where did it start? Did you attend any events online or onsite?

I applied for the MIM programme in the first round, starting at the end of September and ending at the end of November. I also attended an information session in Montreal.

Did you meet or speak with alumni?

Before I applied, I had a chance to speak with two alumni by chance. What they described of INSEAD left a strong impression on me and I thus noticed its brand new MIM programme.

How long did it take you to write your essays?

I spent a week writing my essays. I think the answers to INSEAD’s essay questions require to be succinct and precise. I spent several weeks talking to my friends and other professionals to contemplate in depth my future career goals. Once I finished my brainstorming, it didn’t take much time to finish my essays.

Was it easy for you to find information and the support you needed along the way?

The MIM's recruiting and admissions teams are really supportive and responsive. They are here to help solve any questions that you may have.

Any tips for future MIM candidates?

Take a step back to think about who you are and what you really want to achieve. Be yourself and genuine.

What are you looking most forward to?

I hope INSEAD can equip me with a global mindset and truly practical knowledge for my future career. I hope to secure a great job after INSEAD.
