Tell us about yourself, and how did you get to where you are today both on a professional and personal level?

It is all about my values around diversity. I am originally from Nepal and have lived in Japan, Australia and now in Singapore which are totally different cultures that I assimilated into at different stages of my life.

My perspectives have been shaped by the experiences through people I have met from different parts of the world when I was a student and now further enhanced with the GEMBA programme.

It really has paved the path for my professional fronts when I lead the APAC region to deal with global suppliers, clients, and colleagues, how I constantly think from their standpoint.

What made you decide you wanted to pursue the INSEAD GEMBA, and why INSEAD in particular?

I am always on the lookout for how I can develop myself, even today. An MBA was already on my list to reach the next step of the career ladder.

I chose INSEAD because the educational culture is just so much aligned with my values around diversity, the access to the campus while being in Singapore – I really needed an in-person curriculum.

Of course, the reputation helped me make that decision too but now I understand even better where the reputation comes from. Honestly, it didn’t take a lot of time for me to decide that INSEAD was the one after attending various information sessions of different schools.

What expectations did you have before you started the GEMBA?

Frankly, it was advancement in my career and making life-long friends/ connections.

Could you tell us about your experience with the Career Development Centre (CDC)?

The CDC did a great job in trying to pull and switch a lot of sessions to Zoom sessions, as you know it wasn’t a normal year for us during the COVID disruptions. The career coaches helped us through a lot.

Has the INSEAD GEMBA helped you in your career?

Certainly, it has.

Has the experience helped you remain relevant even after graduation?

Yes, and I think it will remain relevant throughout my career that lies forward. In fact, on my personal front too.

What advice will you give to prospects who are still considering whether an INSEAD GEMBA should be part of their career plan?

There is so much the GEMBA programme has to offer, and it is up to an individual to make the most out of the programme.

It has to be you who steers at the end, but the programme will certainly open the doors and enriches your career with invaluable professional and personal connections.
