Could you share a little about why you decided to pursue the MBA, and in particular, the INSEAD MBA?

The primary reason for the MBA was due to my geographic transition from Japan to France, as I intend to live in France with my French partner.

The INSEAD MBA programme was a perfect choice for me to prepare for my career transition, build a network in France, and experience working with young global leaders.

Can you share your thoughts about the class experience, professors, the curriculum so far?

The learning at INSEAD is not limited to the classroom. There are many opportunities within group work and case assignments to apply the theories and frameworks to the real world. This active and practical learning experience helped me keep the learnings vivid and be ready to bring them to the complex business context.

What are you most looking forward to during your time on the programme?

I believe my time at INSEAD is when I can be the most open about things and discover new opportunities.

During the programme, I am immersed in many options and meeting diverse students who all have different experiences.

This environment will lead me to reconsider my career journey and refocus my attention on something more appropriate and authentic to myself.

Have you learned any important lessons so far from MBA experience that has been especially useful?

My standard is not always standard in the world. When I was in Japan, my thinking was inevitably stuck on Japanese standards. But once I exposed myself to such a diverse environment, I realised there were many ways of thinking, norms, and values.

Any tips for those who are considering an INSEAD MBA?

It is always good to evaluate your “fit” for the school.

Think of INSEAD’s unique value proposition - diversity, collaboration, and intensive learning environment - and ask yourself whether you would do well in this environment.

Having a good fit will benefit both you and INSEAD.
