Could you share a fun fact about yourself - what is something unexpected about you?

I host a podcast, something I started during COVID and despite having no journalistic background, I enjoy tremendously.

So, what made you decide to pursue the TIEMBA, and why did you choose INSEAD?

Initially, I applied because I wanted to engage with business issues in China after missing out on an opportunity to relocate to Beijing at the start of the pandemic.

Now that the programme has started, my motivation has evolved: it’s about exploring different ways of ‘being’ as a leader and doing so in a safe environment where everyone is open to change.

If you were to describe your experience so far in one sentence, what would it be?

The TIEMBA is a supportive learning environment where the class leaves no one behind.

Has the TIEMBA helped you in your career so far?

It’s early days since I’m writing this just after our opening module, but TIEMBA is giving me the confidence that my contribution is valued beyond my company and industry.

What are your thoughts about the multi-campus experience?

My hope is that the multi-campus experience will give a chance for my whole class to meet in one place at some point. At the moment, China’s travel restrictions mean that hybrid learning remains the norm.

Could you tell us more about your learning experience?

It hasn’t fully started yet. Our opening module had a business simulation that was a great opportunity to interact both in person and virtually. I discovered very different ways we each approached the challenge, requiring us to stretch our leadership approaches to make the most out of the talent on the team.

What advice would you give to someone who might be interested in pursuing an INSEAD Masters programme?

Speak to alumni to ask about how their lives changed with the programme. And do some introspection about why you want to pursue a degree, and if there’s something you want to change within you, why is it you’re not satisfied about who you are today.
