Business as a Force for Good, Up Close: A Week With Unjani Clinics

With campuses in France, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, and the US, I knew attending INSEAD would be a global experience. It was the main reason why I chose to apply in the first place. The opportunity to meet and learn from people of all different backgrounds and nationalities was a once-in-a-lifetime chance that I wanted to take, and I can honestly say that it has exceeded all expectations.

Growing and Climbing in Pakistan’s Mountain Communities With Zom Connection

This summer, I received support from INSEAD’s Hoffman Institute for Social Impact to complete an internship with the non-profit Zom Connection, facilitating projects to help grow outdoor sports in communities in Pakistan’s northern mountain regions. Pakistan is a destination for extreme skiers, mountaineers, and adventure travellers who seek out some of the world’s tallest and most rugged mountains. However, local participation in mountain sports is minimal, even in places with the ideal terrain.

Empowering Change: My Journey with Unjani Clinics in South Africa

South Africa is an awe-inspiring place, often read about but less frequently explored. Through this blog I aim to share my experiences as an MBA participant in the Business For Good (BFG) course at INSEAD in February 2023. BFG is a field-based course during which we had the opportunity to engage directly with an organisation to help successfully execute its strategy. This involved a series of sessions on campus followed by a week of onsite collaboration with the organisation.

Wearing the MBA Hat: Propelling Access to Clubfoot Treatment Across Africa

MiracleFeet’s partnership with INSEAD started in 2021 when MBA students gathered for the 10th Master Strategy Day - a competition to create a strategy for MiracleFeet to expand clubfoot treatment in middle-income countries. Since then, the partnership has continued through a follow-on field-based course in INSEAD’s MBA programme called Business as a Force for Good Practicum or BFG. This year, course culminated in a trip to The Gambia.

My Summer Internship at Kaizenvest, an Education-focused PE Firm

This summer, I had the privilege of working with Kaizenvest, a private equity fund based in Singapore dedicated to investments in the education sector, primarily across South and Southeast Asia. As a first-generation college graduate, my roots lie in a small village with limited access to opportunities. Thankfully, I was surrounded by individuals who inspired me to reach beyond the confines of my immediate community.

My Summer Internship – The Power of Respecting and Preserving Cultural Heritage

Since college, I have been trying to make a difference in social impact and sustainability. Starting from 2012, I volunteered in South Africa for one month to provide underprivileged kids with quality education. Subsequently, I participated in reforestation as well as marine conservation initiatives. It was then that I realised, compared to traveling abroad, it could be more impactful to help my local community first.
