    At the end of October, I am just starting to reflect on “la rentrée,” the French term for the return to school and work after the usual month-long summer holidays in France. In unofficial terms, this is when the country returns to productivity and you can expect to reach someone when you call. It’s a rush, as you can imagine, to readjust oneself to the former settings.

    Before leaving for school, people told me about the phenomenon that is called "INSEAD FOMO", and that I should learn to fight it. I was also told that the FOMO is a by-product of INSEAD time: time that is both too fast and too slow. I’ve caught myself, more than a fair number of times, telling people I’ve been living in Fontainebleau for five months, when it’s only really been two. At the same time, everything still feels so new and I’m still getting settled, and I’m not sure where the period has gone. This is INSEAD time:

    As an MBA blog fanatic and long time reader of blogs, writing this post is a momentous occasion. Since I started my MBA journey, I have moved from applicant to candidate to student, and now two months into the program, I am enjoying this experience to the fullest.   5. Time is Flying - Six Weeks In!

    With six weeks into INSEAD and P1 coming to an end, it is probably a good time to introspect on the learnings so far. The schedule has been intense right from orientation week and any available time is spent in socializing through dinners, parties and trips with the fascinating people on campus. While there is no such thing as routine here considering the breadth of experiences we are exposed to everyday, but without focus, it would be tough to achieve our goals.

  6. What is INSEAD like? Well, it’s like the Land Rover Evoque

    I’m pretty sure you would agree that there’s seemingly not much in common between INSEAD and a baby Range Rover. For instance, INSEAD doesn’t come with an interior designed by Victoria Beckham, nor does it have a 4-wheel drive system. And when the time comes to take your children to school, INSEAD isn't going to be of much help. Well, this is weird, because both are brilliant.

  7. On International Matters, INSEAD Means Business

    An American, Dutch, Bangladeshi, Italian, Chinese and Israeli walk into a bar… sounds like the beginning of a bad joke, right? Well, if it is, INSEAD, the world’s #1 business school for 2016, must really like such jokes. Here, these people don’t only walk into bars together, but also to finance classes, business lectures, language trainings and cultural dinners. Diversity on steroids? Multiculturalism in its extremity?

  9. Quiet Moments

    My undergraduate university’s idea of “orientation” was to stick groups of 8-10 freshmen in the middle of the White Mountains for a week with no professional guidance (and really, limited guidance of any sort), and on multiple occasions throughout the years we had to navigate sharing sidewalks with wild moose that occasionally wandered through town - because trekking through knee-high snow drifts wasn’t enough of a challenge at 7:50am. After four years of this rural New Hampshire life, I was pretty determined to remain in cities as long as I had the agency to choose where to live.
